Project Title: The management of chronic illness in LGBT contexts

Project Description: Traditionally when issues of health and LGBTQ people have been explored, there has been an emphasis on sexual health rather than physical health more generally. In terms of chronic illness research has, understandably, focused overwhelmingly on gay and bisexual men's experiences of HIV/AIDS. My project aims to use qualitative methods to expand the LGBTQ health literature by exploring LGBTQ people's experiences and management of other chronic illnesses (e.g. diabetes, heart disease, cancer etc).
