Day 1: Friday 6 March 2009

12:30 – 1:30pm: Coffee, Registration and Introductions

1:30 – 3:00pm: Session 1 – Doing Empirical Research: Focus Group Workshop
This session will be an interactive session exploring the use of focus groups in gender and sexuality research. Featuring Liz Peel (Aston University)

3:00 – 3:30pm: Break

3.30– 5:00pm: Session 2 – Doing Empirical Research
This session features perspectives on doing empirical research from postgraduate research students and early career scholars who have experience of a range of empirical research methods in the gender and sexuality arena, alongside general discussion. Featuring: Rohee Dasgupta (Keele University) on ethnographic methods and Adam Jowett (Aston University) on online methods of data collection.

On the evening of Friday 6 March, Westminster University hosts the 2009 CentreLGS Annual Lecture roundtable discussion, Law, Gender and Sexuality: The making of a field. PECANS workshop participants are warmly invited to attend this event.
